The Malayalam movie ‘Jallikattu’, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, was India’s official entry in the category of Best International Feature Film.

But, unfortunately, the movie is out of the Oscars race as the Malayalam-language movie failed to make it to the International Feature Film shortlist.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Indian filmmaker Karishma Dev Dube’s ‘Bittu’ has been shortlisted in the top 10 list in the Short Film in Live Action category for the 93rd Academy Awards

Presented by Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, Guneet Monga, and Ekta Kapoor under their Indian Women Rising’ initiative, the official synopsis of ‘Bittu’ reads, “Based on a true story, Bittu is a short film about a close friendship between two girls, eclipsed by an accident.”
