Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were blessed with a baby boy for the 2nd time on 21st February 2021.
While fans are eagerly awaiting the 1st glimpse of the newborn as well as his name, here’s a little throwback for Saifeena’s 1st child Taimur Ali Khan!
Back in 2016, when Saif and Kareena welcomed Taimur into the family, a huge controversy had erupted over the baby’s name – with people comparing it to the Turkish invader Timur.
Saif had addressed the controversy saying – “I’m aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler and my son was not named after him. He was Timur, my son is Taimur. Perhaps the root is similar but it’s not the same name.”
In 2018, Kareena had revealed at India Today Conclave that Saif had second thoughts about the name and they were almost going to name Taimur ‘FAIZ’!
“There was a lot of trolling, but there was also an immense amount of support. Not that the trolls mattered, because the night before I was going to the hospital, Saif asked me, ‘If it’s a boy, are you sure you want to do this? Let’s change the name and call him Faiz. It’s more poetic and romantic.’ And I was like, no. If it’s a boy, I want my son to be a fighter. Taimur means ‘iron’ and I will produce Iron Man. I am proud to name him Taimur.”
