Imagine ‘Bajirao Mastani’ & ‘Padmaavat’ without Ranveer Singh. Nay, right?
Ranveer has always nailed his performances, whether as the heroic Peshwa Bajirao or the dark Alauddin Khilji.
Now, according to Peeping Moon, another historical drama has reportedly fallen into Ranveer’s lap. Yes, you heard it right!
The report states that the ‘Gully Boy’ actor has supposedly been approached to play the lead in Vashu Bhagnani’s highly-anticipated project ‘Suryaputra Mahavir Karna’.
A source revealed to the portal, “What ‘Pooja Entertainment’ has announced is a revamped version of the project. They are making it with a different set of cast and production teams, on a much bigger scale than earlier planned. Envisioned on an unparalleled scale with benchmark visual effects, the film requires someone who could bring Karna alive on screen and the makers believe Ranveer fits the bill to the T. They have approached the actor and he has also shown his interest, however, nothing concrete has materialized so far.”
The report also supposedly suggests that Ranveer is waiting for the full script before he takes any call. “Talks are at the very initial stage and can’t be said anything concretely at this moment. However, the makers are hopeful Ranveer would agree to do their film planned as a 300-crore extravaganza,” sources informed the portal.
In February, Vaghnani’s ‘Pooja Entertainment’ announced the multi-lingual high-budget movie by sharing a one-minute teaser of the gran epic war.
Reportedly, the movie is currently at the writing stage and is expected to go on-floors around next year.
Well, ‘Suryaputra Mahavir Karna’ has apparently been in the making for the last five years. The project was helmed by another producer back then, however, things didn’t work out. The project was again revived in 2019, but it was in vain. Then Pooja Entertainment decided to back the project.
