The cult classic, laughter riot comedy film ‘Hera Pheri’ completes 21 years today!
Starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty in the lead roles, this hilarious movie continues to be a source of meme-fest even in 2021.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Hera Pheri also featured Tabu, Gulshan Grover and Om Puri in prominent roles. It was followed by the 2006 sequel ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the 3rd part!
To celebrate this sweet occasion, we have some fun movie trivia for you. Did you know Sanjay Dutt was originally supposed to star in the movie? That’s right! Sanjay was the initial choice for Suniel Shetty’s role as ‘Shyam’.
As reported by TOI, Sanju had to quit the film since he could only do night scenes as he was busy attending court proceedings. He suggested Suniel Shetty take his place and the rest is history.
Moreover, as per reports, Karisma Kapoor was offered the role of ‘Anuradha’ that Tabu ended up playing. Karisma turned down the part because she thought it wasn’t substantial enough.
