4. Tamasha

Before we get into the main detail, apparently director Imtiaz Ali had rejected Anushka Sharma for a movie in the early stages of her career. But it looks like the roles were reversed this time around. Anusha was approached by Ali who wanted to cast her as the lead in Tamasha but she ended up rejecting the film. Hence, the role went to Deepika Padukone.

5. 2 States

2 States - Disney+ Hotstar

Director Abhishek Verman’s original choice to play the female lead in 2 States, which is the movie adaptation a book by the same name, was naturally Anushka Sharma. However, post reading the script Sharma rejected the movie and the role then went on to Alia Bhatt.

6. Aagadu

Anushka was approached by South Indian superstar Mahesh Babu for his movie Aagadu. But the actress had declined the offer and the role went to Tamannaah Bhatia who soon became a fan favourite. The movie even went on to become a gross seller at the box office.

7. An Allu Arjun Movie

Anushka was also approached by actors Allu Arjun and Junior NTR for their respective movies with but as expected by now, Sharma rejected both their offers. As for the reason, she rejected both the movies due to her heavy fees and untimely dates.
