Previously, Ajay Devgn had given Rs 1 Crore to BMC for setting up a 20-bed Covid-19 ICU.

As India Times reported earlier, the Tanhaji actor, along with his producer-friend Anand Pandit and few other colleagues from Bollywood, gave the amount from his NY Foundation to BMC set up an emergency medical unit, equipped with para monitors, ventilators, and oxygen support, at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Reportedly, it was Ajay’s idea to provide emergency medical facilities. The Big Bull producer Anand Pandit was quoted saying to a portal, “In today’s time, the medical facility is overwhelmed. So, we thought of doing something out of the box and give it back to the society.”

Now, according to the latest Pinkvilla report, Ajay Devgn & Anand Pandit are apparently planning to open two more Covid care centres for the Mumbaikars in Juhu & Borivali affected by Covid-19.

“We have converted a school into Covid centre and will have a 25-bed Covid facility in Juhu operational by next week. While there wouldn’t be an ICU facility in there, it will be equipped with Oxygen. We are trying to take support of Amitabh Bachchan sir too, and he is always very positive for any noble work,” the producer revealed to the portal.

“Basically, the idea is to have 75 beds in different parts of Mumbai, so that it helps the people in neighbourhood. The treatment there will be completely funded by us. We are taking the help of doctors from various hospitals and other experts to take this initiative forward,” Anand informs.

Besides that, their team is also contributing to several NGOs by helping them procure oxygen concentrators and beds. “We need standard things for COVID facility and we are procuring it all through registered vendors. We are seeking expert help and also guidance from local doctors,” he added.
