It’s been 11 months since Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise, still, the tragic case hasn’t got any proper closure.
Just a couple of weeks ahead of the late actor’s first death anniversary, the SSR drug case has again hit the headlines.
As per media reports, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has apparently arrested the late actor’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani in Hyderabad on Friday for his alleged connection to the SSR case drug angle.
Reportedly, he was arrested by the investigating agency under section 8(c) r/w 20(b)(II)(a),27,28 & 29 r/w 27-A & 35 of NDPS Act, 1985 for alleged conspiracy and will apparently remain in 5-day custody after being produced in the court on Friday (May 28).
Sameer Wankhede, Mumbai Zonal Unit in-charge, NCB, confirmed to ETimes, “Siddharth Pithani has been arrested and he will be shortly produced in court. No clean chit has been given to anyone.”
He further stated, “The Hon’ble court granted his transit warrant and the said accused has been brought to Mumbai. He was produced before Hon’ble CMM court in Mumbai on 28.05.2021. The Hon’ble Court was pleased to grant NCB Custody till 1/06/2021. Further investigation is underway.”
According to their report, this action against Siddharth was taken after the NCB got the phone and WhatsApp details, leading to certain evidence that he has some alleged connections with drug suppliers.
For the unversed, Siddharth Pithani, late SSR’s flatmate, was among the first ones to find him dead in the apartment on June 14. In August last year, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had also questioned the late actor’s cook Neeraj Singh, along with Siddharth, in connection with the actor’s death case.
