‘Naagin 3’ actor Pearl V Puri has been hitting the headlines lately for the alleged rape case of a minor girl.
Pearl was arrested on Friday and has now been sent into 14-day judicial custody.
The TV industry was reeling in shock after the accusations came to light, however, many celebs jumped to Pearl’s defense – Ekta Kapoor being the foremost. She posted a lengthy note on Instagram stating that the minor’s mother herself admitted that Pearl was innocent and apparently being framed by her husband.
Now, the call between Ekta Kapoor and the victim’s mother has gone viral on social media. Take a look:
The victim’s mother can be heard supporting Pearl and saying how the minor’s father is putting wrong allegations. The mother also called her husband ‘psychotic’ and accused him of brainwashing their daughter.
The mother said – “I was married for 12 years and he (minor’s father) was abusive. Mentally and physically also. I don’t know Ekta. He (the minor’s father) is putting these wrong allegations. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.”
Ekta told the mother that she wouldn’t work with Pearl if the accusations turned out to be true. But if he was proved innocent, then a case should be made against the minor’s father, she urged.
Ekta can be heard saying – “I’m saying if it has not happened, and it is just being used to put somebody in a problem and if you feel it has not happened then you have to stand up for the boy. Because it will be a very problematic thing. If it is a false claim and it will be proved, then I will tell Pearl to put a case against this man.”
Meanwhile, Vasai DCP Sanjay Kumar Patil has reacted to the case saying that the accusations against Pearl are NOT false.
“No, the accusations are not false. His name has come up in the investigation. There is evidence against him. That is why the police have arrested him. The truth will be decided in the trial.”
“The father of the victim had lodged a complaint in Versova police station claiming that their daughter has fallen prey to sexual assault.”
Let’s hope truth prevails in the case and justice is served soon.
