OTT platforms in India are definitely seeing a lot of debuts by Bollywood celebrity since last year.
Now along with other celebrities, Sonam Kapoor seems to be stepping onto the digital bandwagon.
Sonam Kapoor was last seen in The Zoya Factor two years back. Now, the actress has signed a thriller produced by Sujoy Ghosh. The project is said to be a Hindi remake of a Korean mystery thriller titled Blind.
As per reports, the movie was eyeing a theatrical release but due to the current scenario, Sonam‘s Blind will be direct to OTT release.
A source says, “Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is in fact very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shutdown of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal.”
“Blind will be Sonam’s debut on OTT. It is only a logical move to opt for the web because theirs is a small film and they will easily recover the money. Theatrical business is even dicier at this point. So it’s a good call,” says another source.
Sonam’s OTT debut is an exciting news for all the fans.
