Khiladi Of Bollywood… Akshay Kumar celebrates his 54th birthday today.
Unfortunately, his mother Aruna Bhatia passed away yesterday on 8th September 2021. This year, it’s a tough time for the actor.
Akshay took to Instagram to pen a bittersweet, emotional note about his mother on his birthday – “Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on.”
Akshay shared a special and deeply emotional bond with his late mother. Last year for her birthday, the Airlift actor had taken her on an indulgent trip to Singapore, where she had a hearty time at ‘her favorite place in the whole world: the casino’. See video –

Talking about her talented son, the late Aruna ji had fondly commented that there’s no one quite like him.
“Itna pyaar karna wala bachcha ho nahin sakta, itna dhyan karne wala baccha, ho nahin sakta. He has always done whatever he wanted. And by the grace of god, it worked out. No one in our family is from the film line, so just looking at him on screen, gives me so much joy. After my husband died, he handled everything so well that my pain was reduced. There’s no other son like him,” she had said.
She had also reminisced about his childhood and how he was an absolutely naughty kid with no interest in studies.
“Itne shaitaan the, poocho mat. Tod-phod, shaitani, ek hi kaam tha. Padne mein dhyan bohot kam that.”
