THROWBACK: When Gulshan Grover Got REPLACED As A JAMES BOND VILLAIN!

Date:

Veteran actor Gulshan Grover had us all terrified in childhood as the iconic villain ‘Kabira’ in Hera Pheri, didn’t he?

Did you know Gulshan had once landed the opportunity to play a BOND villain but unfortunately he ended up losing out on the film?

Gulshan Grover

In conversation with Rediff, Gulshan revealed that he had been finalised to play Le Chiffre (the math whiz and chess expert baddie) in the Daniel Craig starrer James Bond film Casino Royale.

However, the producers got annoyed when the news got leaked before things were official. One of Gulshan’s reporter friends had divulged the info to the British tabloid, Daily Mirror.

Gulshan was replaced with Mads Mikkelsen

“Unfortunately, it appeared before a formal announcement was made. That upset the producers, who replaced me with Mads Mikkelsen,” Gulshan commented, expressing his regret at having missed such a big opportunity.

Too bad, isn’t it? However, he has played prominent roles in international films like Beeper, Blind Ambition, Desperate Endeavours and Prisoners Of The Sun.
