Ayushmann Khurrana–Vaani Kapoor‘s latest outing ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ deals with the sensitive topic of a trans love story.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie was released in theatres on December 10, 2021.
In the movie, Ayushmann plays the role of a bodybuilder – a Chandigarh gabru named Manu Munjal, while Vaani essays the role of Manvi, a trans woman (assigned male at birth but transitioned into a woman through sex reassignment surgery).
After receiving rave reviews from the audience and critics, ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ has finally been released on Netflix today (January 7, 2022).
Sharing the news on social media, the said OTT platform wrote, “Aashiqs are here to do Aashiqui and we’re all set to witness! Watch #ChandigarhKareAashiqui, now streaming on Netflix!”
The movie had collected a whopping amount of Rs 3.75 Crores on its 1st day of theatre release.
