Bhumi Pednekar’s next movie is ‘Bhakshak’.
Directed by Pulkit (of Bose: Dead/Alive fame), the thriller drama is allegedly based on the horrifying true story of the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home rape case!
What Is Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Rape Case?
34 girls, aged between 7 and 17, had been suffering from rape and torture for months at the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home in Bihar! As per India Today report, the girls would allegedly be drugged before rape and were forced to undergo abortions if they became pregnant.
The prime accused in the case – Brajesh Thakur was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment. In Bhakshak, Bhumi will play a journalist who uncovers this bone-chilling incident.
Bhakshak Movie Cast:
As per Midday report, Surya Sharma (of Undekhi and Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein fame) has been roped in for Bhakshak. He plays Bhumi’s husband in the film.
“Unlike Undekhi, here I play the good guy,” Surya said.
