Sara Ali Khan is all set to headline a biopic movie for the first time in her career.
Titled Aye Watan Mere Watan, the movie will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment.
As per reports, Sara will be seen as the freedom fighter Usha Mehta in her biopic movie. The said movie will be directed by Kannan Iyer (Ek Thi Daayan fame) and is expected to go on floors in August 2022.
Aye Watan Mere Watan will release on Amaon Prime Video. Journalist Rahul Raut took to Twitter and announced the project. There is no official announcement yet.
On Thursday (April 28), Amazon Prime Video India made an announcement and captioned it, “Inspired by the true story of a young girl and her unique role in the fight for India’s independence.” However, the OTT giant didn’t announce the cast and details of the story.
About Usha Mehta:
The veteran hero was famous for running an underground radio station – called Congress Radio, to amplify the Quit India movement. She was an expert in Gandhian thought and philosophy. Usha Mehta authored many essays and books in English and Gujarati.
She had passed away at the age of 80 on 11 August, 2000.
