Storyline:
Freddy Ginwala (played by Kartik Aaryan) is a shy, under-confident, lonely dentist who is in search for his soulmate. He is looking for a suitable girl on a matrimonial site, MeriShaadi.com, and has met a lot of girls, but nothing ever worked out due to ‘lack of compatibility’.
His only friend, who also happens to be his only companion in this world – is a tortoise named Hardy. After many unsuccessful attempts and faloodas, Freddy falls in love with Kainaaz Irani (played by Alaya F) at a wedding. His bubble bursts when he gets to know that Kainaaz is already married and often gets beaten by her abusive husband Rustom.
However, this is not the end of Freddy-Kainaaz’s story. Freddy blurs the line between love and obsession when he gets fixated on his new patient Kainaaz. Soon they go from being strangers to a doctor-patient and then lovers. Kainaaz, who is stuck in an abusive marriage, finds solace in Freddy’s arms.
Freddy finds an unusual solution to get married to Kainaaz but there is a twist which leads to a chaos of emotions and turns his life upside down. Watch Freddy to find out how the drama unfolds…

What Do We Think?
First thing first, Kartik Aaryan’s performance as a creepy-sociopath dentist is a delight to watch. Freddy might be Kartik’s most experimental role till now, however, he excelled in his part and how! His acting clearly elevates Freddy’s character graph.
From Freddy’s body language to his mannerisms and gaze… Kartik’s fans would get to see a completely new and refreshing never-seen-before avatar of the actor.

Alaya F looks promising in her second movie. Her dramatic character arc is a revelation. After her debut performance in Jawaani Jaaneman, Alaya again leaves a mark with her acting in this movie.
The music, especially the song Kaala Jaadu – composed by Pritam, plays an important role in Freddy. Not only it sets the theme of the movie, but also enhances the thrill quotient.
The gloomy theme and the cinematography complement the mood of this movie. Kartik & Alaya’s chemistry seems okayish in the romantic scenes but in the 2nd half when things take a dark turn, you will get more invested in their twisted game.
Hit Or Miss?
Freddy is an out-and-out a Kartik Aaryan show. The movie is a HIT that boasts a spine-chilling plot and a gripping second half, making it a perfect weekend watch.
