Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, passed away at the age of 100 on Friday morning.
She was recently admitted at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad due to health issues.
“Smt Hiraba Modi passed away on 30/12/2022, at 3:39 am (early morning, during the treatment at UN Mehta Heart Hospital,” a statement from the hospital reportedly reads.
Heeraben Modi breathed her last at around 3.30 am. PM Modi took to Twitter and penned an emotional post remembering his mother.
After paying his last respects to his mother at her Gandhinagar residence, PM Modi carried the mortal remains to take the body to crematorium. Heeraben Modi’s last rites were performed at a crematorium at Gandhinagar’s sector 30.
