Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty tied the knot with Indian cricketer KL Rahul in a private ceremony at Sunil Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse yesterday, 23rd January 2023.
Athiya looked dazzling in her wedding outfit and the wedding pictures of the couple is winning the internet.
However, did you know that Athiya did not wear just another ordinary lehenga? Her wedding lehenga took 10,000 hours to make. The actress chose to don an Anamika Khanna design for her big day.
Athiya wore a pink chikankari lehenga that had embroidery all over the fabric and had a tone-on-tone silhouette. As per reports, Anamika opened up about Athiya’s wedding lehenga. She said, “We created an extremely fine piece of Chikankari, as well as jaali ka kaam and Zardozi. In terms of the colour, it is an old-rose colour and even the metallic colours that we’ve used on the lehenga is slightly burnt and old-world. It’s got that subtlety to it.”
She added that silk was used for the main outfit and silk organza was used for her veil and dupatta. “The outfit is a labour of love. It took approximately 10,000 hours to make,” said Anamika.
Athiya ditched the traditional look to embrace the beauty of ivory hues, heavy polki, and pearl necklace with earrings and a maang-tikka. She chose to be perfect combination of modern yet classic bride.
