National Award-Winning Bollywood Art Director Nitin Desai died by suicide at age 57! He had worked on popular films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas.
He was found dead in his ND Studios near Karjat on Wednesday morning (2 August 2023). Nitin had reportedly hung himself from the fan at 4:30 am.
The post-mortem done at Sir JJ Hospital confirmed ‘hanging‘ as the cause of death. Coming to what led him to take this extreme step – as per reports, it was being rumoured that Desai was under severe financial pressure, having taken a whopping 250 crore loan! His company had allegedly become insolvent as a result.
Nitin Desai allegedly left behind an audio note with his recorded suicide message. The 4 people mentioned in the recording might be investigated by the Police for abetment of suicide.
Nitin Desai’s final rites are scheduled to take place on Friday at ND studios. May his soul rest in peace!
