Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra has turned producer and lunched his own production house named Stage 5 Production.
After designing several iconic costumes for Hindi films, Manish is set to don the hat of a producer.
On Friday, Manish Malhotra took to Instagram and announced his production banner – Stage 5 Production. The 56-year-old wrote –
“Ever since my childhood there’s a certain calling i’ve had for Clothes , Colours and Films . I was fascinated by fabrics, textures and music and watched every film wide eyed longing to be a part of Indian Cinema one day. The fascination with clothes grew me to becoming a costume designer and then to starting my Label after many years.
Today after gratifying 3 decades of being in the movies I Present to you STAGE5 Production .. A company that will nurture different artistic voices from all over and take pride in the diversity of stories, collaborating with directors , writers , artist who are not only talented but also have a unique new vision .. @stage5production”
Bollywood celebs like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, Abhishek Bachchan, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty Kundra among others took to the comment section and congratulated Manish on his new venture. Some of them also took to their Instagram and reshared hiss post on their stories.
As per reports, Manish Malhotra has 3 movies lined up under his banner including veteran actress Zeenat Aman’s comeback film. Titled Bun Tikki, the movie is being directed by Faraz Ansari (Sheer Korma fame).

During an interview with Film Companion, he had said –
“There are three films lined up. It has been two-and-half years of single minded journey and I am really grateful that Jio Studios was really been supportive when I told about my plans. Tisca Chopra is directing one film, Faraz Ansari who made ‘Sheer Korma’ is directing a film called ‘Bun Tikki’ and Vibhoo Poori who directed Taj will be making a film. Actors like Vijay Varma, Radhika Apte, Divyendhu, Abhay Deol, Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman are working for my production.”
Rumours are rife, Manish will soon make his directorial debut with a biopic on legendary actress Meena Kumari with Kriti Sanon in the titular role. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
