Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency movie release date postponed!
Directed by the actress, the movie was previously scheduled to hit theatres on 24th November 2023!
The movie is based around the 1975 Emergency period which was imposed by the then-Prime Minister India Gandhi. Kangana Ranaut plays the titular role and has stepped into the shoes of the first Indian woman PM.
Emergency, produced by Kangana under her banner Manikarnika Films, also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair and late Satish Kaushik.
Emergency Movie Release Date Postponed:
On Monday (October 16), Kangana confirmed the postponement of Emergency. She announced that the release date got postponed to next year.
She penned an emotional note and revealed that her entire life’s learnings and earnings have been invested in this film. Ranaut wrote –
“Dear friends, I have an important announcement to make, Emergency movie is the culmination of my entire life’s learnings and earnings as an artist. Emergency is not just a film for me it’s a test of my worth and character as an individual.”

She concluded – “Tremendous response that our teaser and other units got from everyone encouraged us all.My heart is full of gratitude and wherever I go people ask me about Emergency’s release date. We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back to back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024).”
On the work front, Kangana is gearing up for the release of her next, Tejas. Written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, the film has been billed as ‘India’s first aerial action movie’. The film is all set to hit cinemas on 27th October 2023!
