Kiran Rao is back on director’s chair with her next – Laapataa Ladies movie.
Aamir Khan and his ex-wife, Kiran, have jointly produced this movie.
Directed by Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in key roles.
Set in 2001, somewhere in rural India, the comedy-drama follows the jolly mess that ensues when two young brides get lost on a train.
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Jio Studios, the movie was scheduled to hit theatres on 5th January 2024. On Tuesday (21st November), the makers announced the postponement of its release date.
Laapataa Ladies recently garnered international acclaim at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Aamir and Kiran both had expressed their gratitude for receiving such an incredible response to their project.

Sharing the poster along with the release date, the makers wrote –
“Laapataa Ladies ki khoj abhi jaari hai! Milenge 1st March 2024 ko, aapke nazdiki cinema gharon mein.”
Earlier in September, the teaser of Laapataa Ladies was dropped, giving a sneak-peek into its storyline.
In the video, the husbands of the two ladies’ were seen reaching the police station to report missing.
Kiran made her directorial debut in Dhobi Ghat (2011), which starred Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra, and Kriti Malhotra in titular roles.
For the unversed, Laapataa Ladies marks the first collaboration of Kiran with Aamir after they announced separation in 2021.
