Dunki Day 1 Collection:

Dunki marks SRK’s third release of the year post Pathaan and Jawan. While Pathaan had raked in Rs 55 crores in the Hindi belt, Jawan collected Rs 75 crores on its first day in India and the Hindi version minted Rs 65.5 crores.

As reported by Sacnilk, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has opened to a box office collection of Rs 30 CRORES which is much lesser than his other two releases. Reportedly, the movie had an overall 29.94% Hindi occupancy on Thursday.

Dunki had its first show at 5:55 AM at Mumbai’s iconic theatre, Gaiety Galaxy. It was organized by King Khan’s fan club.

The unique showtime was chosen due to SRK’s special number ‘555’ which is also his car numbers.

While promoting the movie in Dubai, Khan explained the meaning of ‘Dunki’ and said –

“Dunki is an illegal trip lot of people take to get out of their country across borders all over the world. It is called the Donkey travels. So, the film is about going out and finding a future for yourself but loving your home the most. So it’s about homecoming. So, you can stay anywhere in the world but you can rest only on the soil of your nation. So, that’s what the film is about.”
