Yesterday, Poonam Pandey, whose name has become synonymous with controversies, shocked the nation after the actress’ team had announced her ‘sudden’ death news at the age of 32 due to cervical cancer.
On Saturday morning (February 3), Poonam took to Instagram and confirmed that she is alive. She further clarified that her it was to create awareness regarding cervical cancer vaccine.

Poonam’s fake death stunt from cervical cancer has ignited a firestorm of debate. Netizens cautioned for legal action to be taken, saying that such false promotional campaign set a dangerous precedent for advertising.
Celebs like Ektaa R Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Tahira Kashyap, Vivek Agnihotri, Aly Goni, Prince Narula among others took to social media and slammed the actress for faking her death.
Rakhi Sawant and Uorfi Javed also took a dig at Poonam over her insensitive stint. The actress is also facing the wrath the outraged netizens.
Pooja Bhatt took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “I never delete tweets but did so in the case where I expressed my shock at news of Poonam Pandey’s demise due to cervical cancer. Why? Turns out the news was engineered by a digital/PR team. Absolute disgrace & disservice to those battling the same-her included.”
Aly Goni wrote, “Fu*king cheap publicity stunt it was nothing else.. u guys think it’s funny ? U and ur PR team should be boycotted I swear.. bloody losers and to all the media portals we people here trust u that’s y we believed it.. shame on u all…”
