Acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is set to make his much-anticipated Bollywood debut in an upcoming film directed by Imtiaz Ali, reportedly titled Idiots of Istanbul.

The collaboration, which pairs Fahadh with rising star Tripti Dimri, has already created a buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.

“It’s a quirky title, as Imtiaz Ali is switching genre from intense romance to a slice-of-life romantic comedy. The story demands a title like Idiots of Istanbul, as the two key characters are on a journey to the largest city of Turkey,” a source revealed.
Imtiaz Ali will helm the film as director and producer under his banner, Window Seat Films. This marks Fahad’s first collaboration with the filmmaker, while Tripti previously worked with him on Laila Majnu, which he had penned. The script is in its final stages of refinement, with production set to begin in early 2025.

Fahadh Faasil was last seen in the blockbuster Pushpa 2, where he portrayed a formidable antagonist opposite Allu Arjun. The film, which released on December 5, has been a massive success. On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 star Tripti Dimri has a promising line-up of films, including Dhadak 2, Arjun Ustara with Shahid Kapoor, and Animal Park.
