FACT-Check: Is Deepika Padukone Starring In King?
That Deepika Padukone would be playing Suhana Khan’s mom and SRK’s former lover in the film. Sounds dramatic, right? Well, hold on—because that’s not happening.

Director Siddharth Anand, who’s helming King, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) and put those rumors to rest. His post was short and sweet: “False.” While he didn’t directly say what he was referring to, it was pretty clear he was shutting down the Deepika casting news.

To add more weight to that, Bollywood Hungama confirmed that Deepika is not a part of King. So, if you were hoping for another SRK-Deepika reunion on screen, sadly, this isn’t the film for that.

Sonam Bajwa In King?
Instead, the spotlight will shine on someone new! Punjabi star Sonam Bajwa is reportedly set to have a special extended cameo in the film. According to a source quoted in the report, “Sonam is a superstar of Punjab and is all set to make her debut with Shah Rukh Khan in King. The actress is doing multiple films – from Housefull 5 to Baaghi 4 and more – and King is set to be her biggest till date.”
As for the rest of the cast, things are looking exciting! King will star the real-life father-daughter duo Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, with Abhishek Bachchan playing the villain and Abhay Verma in a key role. The movie is set to begin filming in June 2025, with an initial schedule planned in India.
So nope, no Deepika here—but still a film to watch out for!
