Karan Johar has always known how to make a statement, whether it’s through his larger-than-life films or his bold fashion choices. But lately, it’s his incredible weight loss that has everyone talking.

Fans have been noticing his transformed look, and of course, the internet had plenty of theories. One of the biggest rumors? That Karan may have turned to Ozempic, a popular anti-diabetic drug that’s often linked to weight loss.

Karan finally decided to address the speculation. During a quick #AskKJo Instagram Live session ahead of the release of Kesari Chapter 2, he opened up about his transformation and set the record straight.

“That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests,” he said.

Karan explained that his journey actually started with a health check.

“It started with me discovering that I needed to correct my blood levels,” he shared.

While he is on medication now, it’s not for losing weight. It’s to help manage those blood levels. From there, he made a major change in how he eats.

“Then it went on to me eating one meal a day, something I call ‘OMAD’,” he said.

But the changes didn’t stop at food. Karan also included what he calls “parallel play” in his daily routine. This included swimming, regular workouts, and following a strict and healthy diet.

He also revealed that his new diet cuts out lactose, gluten, and sugar. For Karan, the key is to eat only when necessary and to make mindful choices about what goes on his plate. He believes that mindset matters just as much as the menu.

“Greed often replaces real hunger, which isn’t healthy,” he pointed out. Karan added that he has been working hard to change the way he thinks about food.

And the result? He feels better than ever.

“I want to tell you I am in the pink of health. I’ve never felt happier, lighter on my feet. I’ve lost my weight the right way. I ideally wake up with a spring in my step, and I feel ready to work with new zest and zeal. So, yeah, I love it.”

Karan’s transformation is inspiring, and the best part is that it’s rooted in self-care, discipline, and a strong mindset. No shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just pure dedication.
