In a heartwarming and candid chat with Instant Bollywood, singer Armaan Malik shared the beautiful story of how he met and fell in love with his now-wife, Aashna Shroff.
Armaan Malik Opens Up On His Love Story With Aashna Shroff, Says Their 1st REAL Meeting Happened In New York
The singer, known for his soulful voice and romantic songs, gave fans a glimpse into his own real-life romance that feels nothing short of a movie. Talking to Instant Bollywood, Armaan revealed that while he and Aashna had a few mutual friends, their first real meeting happened in New York.
Both of them were attending the IIFA Awards. Armaan was nominated for his song Besabriyaan from MS Dhoni, and Aashna was there as an influencer.
“We have a bunch of mutual friends. But we actually met in New York. She was also influencing at IIFA, and I was nominated for Besabriyaan for MS Dhoni. And we just happened to catch up there for the first time.”
“Before that, we had met once or twice in Bombay. We’d just met as people who wanted to get to know each other, but there was no real intention behind it. But when we met in New York, that’s when I felt like things really changed, and we started having feelings for each other from there.”

Armaan Malik And Aashna Shroff Love Story Has This Lauv Song Connection!
Armaan shared how Lauv’s popular track I Like Me Better became a very special part of his love story with Aashna.
“When Lauv came to Bombay, I was doing a podcast with them, just having a conversation. And I told them your song, ‘I Like Me Better’, was what I sent Aashna to tell her that ‘I like me better when I’m with you’. He was like, ‘That’s so crazy that my song is part of your Lauv story.’”
The lyrics of that song couldn’t have been more perfect. “To be young and in love in New York City.” That one line meant everything to Armaan and Aashna, because New York was where it all began for them.
Their journey had even more signs that felt like destiny. Aashna’s mother, Kiran Shroff, who is a film producer, gave Armaan a chance to sing in one of her movies. For Armaan, this just felt like the universe was working its magic.
“And then Aashna’s Mom Kiran Shroff, who’s a producer, gave me a chance to sing for one of her movies. In my head, it just felt like one plus one equals two. I felt like somewhere up there in the heavens, there’s a cosmic conspiracy happening to bring us together. And yeah, it just happened.”
It’s always heartening to see real-life love stories unfold, especially when they come from someone who has given us so many romantic songs over the years. Armaan and Aashna’s story is a reminder that sometimes, love finds you when and where you least expect it.
