Sooraj was asked if the strained relationship between his mom, actress Zarina Wahab, and his dad Aditya Pancholi ever affected him as a child. The actor replied honestly.
“I wouldn’t say so because they both gave us a lot of love, individually and together. We also had our grandparents around, nana, nani, dada, dadi, all four were alive. So, I think we got enough love from everyone. They were the best parents.”

Zarina Wahab had previously stated that she ‘doesn’t care’ about her husband Aditya Pancholi’s alleged extramarital affairs, focusing on his role as a father and husband at home. When Sooraj was questioned whether he ever talked about this with his mother, he replied –
“I’m telling you, she never complained to me or my sister. I haven’t even seen it, the podcast or interview or whatever it is. But as far as we’re concerned, she never said that to us. I only heard it from outside. I don’t know. What can I say about it?”
And he added that he never intended to put his mother in an uncomfortable spot.
“Why should I ask her something that she might not be comfortable with? Why would I put my mother in that kind of spot? Never.”
