Soha Ali Khan recently had an exclusive chat with Instant Bollywood where she opened up about her bond with her nephew Ibrahim Ali Khan, giving us a peek into family life behind the glitz of Bollywood.

With Sara already a well-established star and Ibrahim making his debut, Soha mused on how seeing them grow up stirs a mix of nostalgia and pride.
She said, “I feel kids grow up, but we have so many memories of them being little. And it’s nice to see that at the heart of it, they’re the same, at least with us.”
Soha admits they don’t bump into each other often in public. Mostly, their encounters happen at premieres or family gatherings. She jokes about how Ibrahim’s social life is totally off-limits for her (obviously, I won’t be seen there).
Despite the rare meet-ups, Soha said that warmth and respect defines their family bond. “When we meet as families, there is huge respect, support, and love. That is nice, and it’s important to keep in touch with your families.”
In today’s fast-paced world, nuclear families have become the norm, and extended family meet-ups are a rarity. Soha pointed out how easy it is to drift apart from cousins, aunts, and uncles as life gets busier. “These things, I think, you only understand later in life,” she added.

Of course, the internet can’t help but obsess over whether Ibrahim is a carbon copy of his father, Saif Ali Khan.
“I think people see what they want to see. And it’s difficult,” she said. She recalled how, back in the day, Saif was quite rebellious with his own unique style, very English, with a different hairstyle.
“There are similarities, and there are differences. I’ll just leave it at that.” So while there are definitely some family resemblances, Soha made it clear that Ibrahim is his own person.
In the end, it’s all about love, respect, and making the effort to stay connected.
