Manoj admits he rarely watches commercial films; whether Indian or Hollywood. Instead, he prefers cinema that helps him grow as an actor and as a person.
Manoj doesn’t shy away from admitting that his taste doesn’t align with the usual commercial blockbusters. Rather than chasing glitzy entertainment, he gravitates toward films that offer depth or showcase the talent of his friends.

“I’m a person of cinema. I consume good cinema. I watch films that help me evolve as a person and actor and improve my cinematic sense, or I watch stuff made by my friends recently.”
Manoj praised actors like Sunny Hinduja (The Family Man) for his impressive work in Saare Jahan Se Accha, as well as Pratik Gandhi and Tilottama. He even singled out Suhail Nayyar, who plays Rafiq, saying, “I really liked him when I saw him for the first time.” For Manoj, discovering fresh talent is like a breath of fresh air because it gives him immense peace to see good people making good films and finding their rightful place.
Manoj Bajpayee Working With Ram Gopal Varma For Horror Next
When asked if there’s a genre he still dreams of exploring, Manoj revealed one big wish: horror. “One of my big wishes was to do a really good horror film,” he said. True to his word, he’s now working on a horror movie with the legendary Ram Gopal Varma.
“We’ve finished one schedule, and it’s been a lot of fun,” he added. Once his current film wraps up, he’ll jump into that spooky world.
