Storyline:
Romance author Rumi (Ananya Panday) lands in Croatia chasing sunsets and that elusive 90s wala pyaar in the middle of 2025’s hook-up culture.
Enter Ray (Kartik Aaryan). Mama’s boy, certified flirt, walking red flag according to Rumi. She finds him loud, annoying and is desperate to avoid him. Fate, however, has other plans. They keep bumping into each other everywhere. Same yacht, same cafés, yada yada. Cue eye-rolls, banter and then undeniable sparks.
What starts as constant bickering slowly turns into a dreamy holiday romance. But reality crashes the party. This fling comes with an expiry date thanks to the emotional family drama & baggage (Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta).
Will this end as just another vacation memory, or can Rumi and Ray turn this fleeting romance into something real once the holiday ends?

At first glance, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri looks like it has everything going for it. Stunning Croatia locations, and even the flirty, chaotic rom-com vibes are definitely there in the beginning. Sadly, the film never quite figures out what to do with them.

The biggest issue is the writing. The comedy feels try-hard, the dialogues are often cringe, and the humour rarely lands the way it wants to. There are moments where the banter sparks briefly, but they are too few and far between to save the overall experience. The story itself has no real grip. It is basic, predictable, and stretched thin without enough emotional or narrative weight to justify it.

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday look cute together on the surface, but the chemistry is largely lacklustre. It flickers occasionally, but never fully clicks. Ironically, their chemistry felt far more natural in Pati Patni Aur Woh. Kartik’s comic timing works in parts, but he often goes over the top, feeling a little bit too inspired by Akshay Kumar. Ananya looks adorable, but her performance remains fairly average.
The film starts off breezy but fizzles out quickly. Character development falls flat, and the central conflict is neither compelling nor substantial enough to keep you invested. Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta are genuinely good, but even they are let down by weak material that gives them very little to shine with.
The music is another disappointment. A holiday romance like this needed a banger soundtrack. But most songs fail to make an impact, and the remix of Saat Samundar Paar is especially underwhelming.
Considering Sameer Vidwans previously delivered a far more heartfelt film with Kartik in Satyaprem Ki Katha, this feels like a step down. In the end, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri looks pretty but feels dull. With better writing and tighter execution, it could have been a fun rom-com. Instead, it ends up being rather forgettable.
