According to a source quoted by India Today, Hrithik Roshan was never in talks for Don 3. No meetings, no discussions. The source clarified that the film is currently in a holding phase and the script itself needs a major rework.
Since Don 3 was initially designed around Ranveer Singh, the makers now need to tweak the story to fit a completely new leading man. Only once that version is locked will the team begin searching for their next Don. While Hrithik would be a solid choice on paper, the insider confirmed that all the chatter right now is purely speculative.

Ranveer Singh Exited Don 3, To Focus On Zombie Movie Pralay
So why did Ranveer step away? Turns out, it was a conscious career move. After the success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer decided to exit Don 3 to fast-track his zombie thriller Pralay. The actor reportedly wants to avoid being stuck in the gangster-action space for too long and is keen to switch genres while the momentum is strong.
That said, Ranveer isn’t disappearing from the big screen anytime soon. He is all set to return in Dhurandhar Part 2, which is slated for a theatrical release on 19 March 2026.
For now, the only confirmed truth is that Don 3 is still a work in progress, and the hunt for its next leading man hasn’t officially begun. Hrithik Roshan may look perfect on a fan-made poster, but in reality, there’s no deal, no discussion, and no secret signing. As for Ranveer Singh, he’s simply switching lanes, choosing zombies over gangsters and keeping his filmography unpredictable.
