Ranveer Singh Zombie Movie; Kalyani Priyadarshan Joins As Female Lead!
Ranveer Singh is clearly not in the mood to play safe, and his next film proves it. Fresh off the roaring success of Dhurandhar, the actor is diving headfirst into uncharted territory with Pralay, a gritty, post-apocalyptic zombie thriller that already sounds wild in the best way possible.

Directed by Jai Mehta, Pralay is set in a crumbling, near-future world where survival is the only rule. Ranveer plays a lone protagonist battling both zombies and the breakdown of society itself. What makes it even more exciting is the setting. Mumbai will be digitally aged and stripped down to look eerily deserted, giving the film a global, dystopian vibe reminiscent of The Hunger Games, but with a distinctly desi edge.

Joining Ranveer is South star Kalyani Priyadarshan, who has been cast as the female lead. Best known for her role in the Malayalam superhero film Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, Pralay will mark her Bollywood debut. Interestingly, rumours of Alia Bhatt being approached for the role were doing the rounds earlier, but the makers seem to have locked Kalyani for this fresh pairing.
Ranveer Singh Upcoming Projects:
The film is expected to go on floors between July and August 2026, once Ranveer wraps up his existing commitments. These include Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which is already locked for a 19 March 2026 release and will pick up exactly where the first film ended.
Interestingly, Ranveer reportedly exited Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 to do Pralay. The reason? After Dhurandhar, the actor is keen to avoid being boxed into the gangster-action zone for too long.
With zombies, a ruined Mumbai, and Ranveer in survival mode, Pralay already sounds like a total genre shake-up. If this is the future of his film choices, count us very much in!
