Phew. The biggest box office showdown of the year has officially been dodged. For weeks, fans were gearing up for an epic clash between Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups and Dhurandhar 2, both locked for a massive 19 March release.

But plot twist. Toxic has changed lanes, and the theatres just sighed in relief. The Toxic team has officially pushed the release by three months. The film will now hit cinemas worldwide on 4 June 2026, releasing in English and multiple Indian languages.
So why the delay? Yash and the makers cited the current uncertainty in the Middle East. With tensions escalating after the US and Israel’s joint strike on Iran, the team felt the global situation could affect the film’s international reach.

“Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we conceptualized with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. Filmed in Kannada and English, it is built with the conviction to connect with viewers both at home and across the world. After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.”
“Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support.”
Toxic Vs Dhurandhar 2 Clash Avoided
This delay actually works out great. Dhurandhar 2 gets its solo moment in March, while Toxic arrives fresh, unchallenged, and ready to dominate June.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic boasts a powerhouse cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
For now… No clash, no stress, double celebration for movie lovers. Sometimes, postponement really is the smartest move.
