The highly anticipated Om Raut directorial ‘Adipurush’ is the retelling of the Indian epic Ramayana.
This mythological drama has already locked in its two main leads; South Superstar Prabhas as Adipurush (Lord Ram) and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravana).
Another cast member has been finalized now. ‘Inside Edge’ actor Angad Bedi is soon expected to sign the dotted line. He has been roped in to play Saif Ali Khan’s son onscreen. Bedi will be seen as ‘Meghnad’ in Adipurush.
Meghnad aka Indrajit was the eldest son of Ravana and a mighty warrior, expert in magical illusion warfare, sorcery and tantra. He was granted a boon by Lord Brahma that he could only be killed by a man who had conquered sleep.
“Angad has done multiple meetings with the team, and the producers believe he fits the role of Saif’s on-screen son. Currently, on a family holiday in Delhi, the actor is expected to sign on the dotted line once he returns to the city. Angad, who will have to undergo physical transformation to portray the larger-than-life character, is expected to kick off prep next month,” a source revealed to Midday.
Adipurush will go on floors in 2021. The makers have already announced that it will opt for a theatrical release on 11th August 2022. It’s going to be shot in Hindi and Telugu and dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
