Actress Sharmin Segal, who made headlines for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is reportedly expecting her first child.

The young actress, who also happens to be Bhansali’s niece, is currently in Mumbai as she nears the final stages of her pregnancy. Sources say she is due to deliver anytime soon.
Sharmin married Aman Mehta, the executive director of Torrent Pharmaceuticals, in a private and dreamy ceremony held in Italy back in November 2023. Since then, the couple has been living in Ahmedabad. However, with her due date approaching, Sharmin has returned to Mumbai to be closer to her family and for the delivery.

About Sharmin Segal:
Sharmin began her acting career in 2019 with Bhansali’s film Malaal, where she starred opposite Meezaan Jafri. While the film received a mixed response, it marked the beginning of her journey in the film industry. In 2022, she appeared alongside Pratik Gandhi in the ZEE5 romantic-comedy Atithi Bhooto Bhava, where she played a leading role.
In 2024, she made her much-talked-about appearance in Heeramandi, a series set in the pre-Independence era that explores the lives of courtesans. Although the show created a lot of buzz, Sharmin’s performance received mixed reviews. Some viewers felt that her portrayal lacked the emotional depth and intensity required for such a powerful setting, calling it a bit “flat.”
