EXCLUSIVE: Mrunal Thakur Opens Up On Her Hostel Life, Difficult Career Phase & More
Mrunal Thakur may be a full-blown star today, but her secret weapons for surviving Bollywood aren’t just talent and good looks… they are patience, hostel-honed life skills, and a seriously chilled-out mindset.
EXCLUSIVE: Mrunal Thakur Opens Up On Her Hostel Life

In an exclusive chat with Instant Bollywood, she spilled the tea on how sharing bathrooms and bunk beds actually prepared her for the madness of showbiz.
“Adjusting. Because in hostel, you have to share. Life has discipline. I was disciplined. I’m still disciplined. Like punctual and all… But also I feel, patience. That’s the biggest thing,” she says.
According to her, if you’re calm and patient with yourself, good things will show up at your doorstep. If not? Well, impatience invites insecurity, jealousy, and negativity to come live rent-free in your head, and nobody wants that kind of drama.

Of course, being patient doesn’t mean her career has been all smooth sailing. When asked about her toughest phase, she admits there were low points, such as those two long years without work, or that one film she really wanted but didn’t get. But here’s where she surprises you.
“When it released and I watched it, I was like, okay, maybe I wasn’t good for it. And I moved on,” she replied casually.
Her vibe is basically this – if you can’t control it, why waste energy stressing over it? “Am I getting joy? No. Then why? It’s not the only film being made, correct? There will be many opportunities. So many people are making films. So much new talent is coming into the industry,” she points out.
Hostel life taught her to share her space, but the industry taught her to share her patience with the process.
