The fresh pairing has already sparked interest, with the makers unveiling Tamannaah’s first-look poster shortly after Siddhant’s reveal as the auteur himself.
Tamannaah steps into the role of Jayashree, the accomplished actress who played a muse, a confidante and creative collaborator in Shantaram’s life and creative evolution. Draped in a soft pink Nauvari saree, she channels the elegance of Jayashree, who is remembered for memorable performances in Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Shakuntala, Chandra Rao More and Dahej.
More than just Shantaram’s second wife, Jayashree was a collaborator whose presence shaped many of his landmark cinema choices.
Opposite her, Siddhant Chaturvedi takes on the challenge of portraying V. Shantaram the trailblazer behind Prabhat Film Company and Rajkamal Kalamandir, and the creative force responsible for classics such as Duniya Na Mane, Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje and Navrang. His journey from the silent era to becoming one of India’s most influential filmmakers stands at the heart of this film.
