Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan is all set to make his Bollywood debut in the Netflix film ‘Qala’ along with Bulbbul actress Tripti Dimri.
But did you know that the late actor wanted to share screen space with his son and even had a script in mind?
In conversation with ETimes, Irrfan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar revealed details about the film he wanted to do with Babil. It was apparently a sports drama film –
“He was actually looking at a script and that’s why I am saying that he was not prepared. He was looking at a script for him and Babil. He was like, ‘Babil ka yehi raha na ki acting hi karna hai toh yeh jo film aa rahi hai na, Sutapa…’ It was a very nice film about a coach who trains some specially-abled children for a football tournament and a win. And he said, ‘I want to do it with him. I would like to act or direct, maybe if I can’t act, I’ll direct. But maybe I would like to act…’. That was the kind of dreams and plans and everything and then suddenly… I don’t know,” Sutapa had told the portal.
Well, Babil may not have had the chance to star with his father but his entry in Bollywood is highly anticipated. Given that his debut film is backed by Anushka Sharma’s Clean Slate Filmz production (which is known for strong content-oriented projects like Paatal Lok and Bulbbul) …. it remains to be seen how Babil carries forward his father’s legacy.
