Kriti Sanon will be playing a surrogate mother in her next comedy-drama film ‘Mimi’.
Did you know the petite actress had to gain 15 kgs for the role? Whoa!
Produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Mimi’ is the Hindi remake of the 2011 Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vahhaychy!’ featuring Urmila Kanetkar. This adaptation also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Saie Tamhankar in pivotal roles.
The Mimi trailer has just dropped and we’re loving it! In the trailer, Pankaj’s character can be seen persuading Kriti’s to become a surrogate mother for a foreign couple. When she reacts in disgust, he explains to her that she will not have to sleep with the guy and will also be paid 20 lakhs for carrying it.
However, things take a dramatic turn when the foreign couple no longer wants the child and she is asked to abort it!

Mimi will have a direct-to-OTT premiere on Netflix on 30th July 2021! In the meanwhile, Kriti has also wrapped up ‘Bhediya’ with Varun Dhawan. It will release in theatres next year on 14th April, 2022.
