Clinical depression is an illness of the mind where the subject is often low on interest, has a persistent depressed mood and goes through changes in sleeping patterns, eating habits and a fall in regular routine if the situation is severe.

According to Police statements, Sushant Singh Rajput was showing signs of clinical depression and was also apparently visiting a psychiatrist.

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh took to twitter and tweeted on the 15th of June that although the post mortem reports concluded the death to be a suicide, the Mumbai Police would furthur investigate on the actor’s battle with depression.

As the entertainment world crumbles at this news, we pay our condolences and hope that Sushant’s family finds peace.

Bollywood on depression

Depression is a serious mental illness and many celebrities have come forth to talk on the subject so that the stigma of it being a “mental disorder” is eradicated.

As far as Bollywood is concerned, many prominent actors such as Deepika Padukone, Anushka Shama, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan and more have made it a point to talk on mental health as much as they can and moreover, transparently.
