‘I’m my fathers daughter and yes I am here because of him. That’s not an insult’; says Sonam Kapoor on recieving hate

On the account of Father’s Day, actor Sonam Kapoor dedicated a tweet talking about how she is proud of the person she has become and that she is her father’s daughter.

The Khoobsurat actress says being privileged is not an insult. She comes from a family of actors and producers which she considers a blessing which is part of her karma.

The negative comments and hate skyrocketed to death threats and ill wishes upon her family. In the furious nepotism debate, Sonam Kapoor has turned off her comments section along with her parents’ comments sections. The actor says, “Yes, I’ve switched off my comments section because I don’t want my 64-year old parents to go through this.”

In another tweet, Sonam has tagged screenshots of message requests on Instagram that appear to be extremely vulgar hurtful. From death threats to abuse worded statements.

As a part of the tweet thread, more screenshots have been posted where Sonam says that these aren’t even the worst of it. The actor and her team have been reporting all these comments and messages and she says, “I hope your parents don’t have to see this sort of this stuff.”

Sonam also tweets about karma and how ‘karma is the biggest leveller’.

She says, “I thank God everyday for who I am and for whom I’m born to. If you really knew what Hindu philosophy and dharma is about, you wouldn’t be so foolish. You are just damaging yourself and quality of life.”
