‘Commando’ Star Vidyut Jammwal & Shruti Hassan Starrer ‘The Power’ Finally To Have A Release; Mahesh Manjrekar’s Gangster Drama To Release On Zee5!

The year 2020 has delayed several movie releases. All credits go to Covid-19.

Now, Mahesh Manjrekar’s pending film, starring Vidyut Jammwal & Shruti Hassan in the lead, will finally get a release.

According to mid-day reports, Vidyut-Shruti starrer gangster drama ‘The Power’ is all set to see the light of the day. The movie is all set to release on Zee5 in 2021.

Set against the backdrop of Mumbai underworld, ‘The Power’ went on floors in April 2018.

While Vidyut plays the role of a gangster in this movie, Shruti will play his love interest. However, things go wrong and the situation teaches her to wield guns as well.

Talking about finally having an OTT release, producer Vijay Galani stated, In these uncertain times, OTT is the best option available. Although the action thriller is more suited for a theatrical release, we don’t know how long it will be before things normalize, so we have decided to not wait.”

Vijay also mentioned that the post-production delayed the release. “It took a while due to the high-octane action sequences. With about 18 villains, we were looking to release the film in the first half of 2020, but the pandemic broke out,” he further revealed.

This movie, which has a great ensemble cast with a lot of Marathi actors on-board, marks Manjrekar’s return as a Bollywood director after a decade.
