Looks like another one of Varun’s upcoming projects is going to be a REMAKE… the Sajid Nadiadwala masala action thriller film titled ‘Sanki’!
After Dishoom and Judwaa 2, Sajid and Varun are reuniting for the 3rd time. As per the latest reports, Parineeti Chopra was the top contender to be Sanki’s leading lady. While there is no official confirmation of this, another juicy bit of news is doing the rounds –
As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Sanki is apparently the remake of the South film ‘Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru’ and will feature Varun as a HANDICAPPED COP.
A source told the portal, “Sajid Nadiadwala had bought the official rights to the superhit Tamil thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. Sanki is a remake of the same film. They are adapting the screenplay to suit the pan-India platform.”
The source added, “Varun Dhawan plays a top cop who loses his leg during one of the investigations. It’s challenging for Varun because he plays a character battling a physical handicap for the first time in his career.”
Apart from Sanki, Varun has ‘Bhediya’ with Kriti Sanon, ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ with Kiara Advani and Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ekkis’.
