Mallika Sherawat Says It’s ‘Misogynistic’ How People Blamed ‘Actor’s GF’ For His Death!

Mallika Sherawat is now making her transition into the OTT space with her very first web series called ‘Nakaab’.

The investigative thriller is live on MX Player and it shows Mallika in quite a never-seen-before role.

However in a recent interview, without taking names, Mallika has apparently referred to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the involvement of his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.

Sushant Singh Rajput had passed away in June 2020 and it was his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty who in the following weeks was accused of money laundering and abetting his suicide.

Mallika says, Last year there was a death of an actor and people in a very misogynistic way started blaming his girlfriend. Again it comes down to perception towards women, how we treat women. There was no proof that the poor girlfriend was involved, they started blaming her, manipulating her. The role social media is playing in all this thing. This is all-inclusive in our show Nakaab.”

Sherawat was then asked if the show is inspired by the late actor’s death and if there were any connections to which she replied, “I don’t want to take any names, but I would definitely say there are a lot of similar things.”

Nakaab also stars Gautam Rode, Esha Gupta and Ankita Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
