Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical fiction novel of the same name. Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions with music by AR Rahman!

The action-packed period piece boasts stunning visuals and epic fights and conspiracies of the Chola Empire. Chiyaan Vikram plays Aditya Karikalan, Jayam Ravi features as Arunmozhi Varman, Karthi is Vanthiyathevan and Trisha Krishnan is seen as Kundavai.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has a double role as Queen Nandini and Mandakini Devi. Shobhita Dhulipala is playing Queen Vanathi.
