Ganapath Movie Review; Plotline:

The film opens with Dalapati (played by Amitabh Bachchan) explaining the aftermath of a war that caused destruction to a certain parts of the world. Set in the year 2070, where the world is divided between Silver City and Gareebon Ki Duniya, Guddu aka Ganapath (played by Tiger Shroff) is a carefree, casanova guy who is the messiah of the poor. He rises as a beacon of hope, to bridge the gap between the unjust division of society.

After learning about his true destiny, Guddu transforms into Ganapath – the leader to his peeps, the poor people. He needs to save them from the rich and exploited people, controlled by the mysterious Dalini (whose identity is yet to be revealed).

During his fight, Guddu meets Jassi (played by Kriti Sanon) and falls in love with her. She is trained in martial arts and nunchucks.

What happens next? Will Guddu be able to save his people from getting exploited ad assaulted by the rich? Watch Ganapath to know how things unfold…

What Do We Think?

After Adipurush, Ganapath also disappoints us with its terrible and shoddy VFX. The storyline is predictable, the screenplay is poor and the execution is lame. It will make you wonder why Vikas Bahl (who helmed movies like Queen, Super 30) directing such films.

The first half of the movie is average and the second half also doesn’t meet expectations. The emotional angle of the poor people fails to strike a chord with the audience. The film lacks the character build up of its lead actors.

Tiger Shroff Ganapath movie

Tiger Shroff tries to shoulder this poorly-written film as Guddu. From his tapori language to performing high-octane, gravity-defying action sequences, Tiger is doing nothing new in this sci-fi actioner that he hasn’t done before. He is either dancing or fighting throughout the movie. However, he is great in those action scenes.

Kriti Sanon Ganapath movie

Kriti Sanon doing actions is a treat to watch. And probably, the only good thing about this movie. She is badass as Jassi. She is convincing, confident and can surely kick ass like a pro. It’s sad to see her character not having much screentime with her limited role.

Amitabh Bachchan Ganapath movie

Amitabh Bachchan’s voiceover and cameo as Dalapati lends a decent support to the overall narrative of the movie. Elli AvrRam and Gauahar Khan are wasted in their severely limited screen-time.

Tiger & Kriti reunited after 9 years for this film after debuting together in Heropanti. The romantic track between Guddu and Jassi is missing the spark. The songs are not worth remembering and the dance numbers seem forced. The villain’s character seems like comical.

The ending of Ganapath: Part 1 – A Hero Is Born teases us with its sequel, Ganapath: Part 2 – Rise of the Hero. After watching this movie, one must think if they really should continue?

HIT Or MISS?

Overall, Ganapath is a soulless movie that will let you down with its terrible VFX. You can definitely give it a miss, even if you are a die hard Tiger Shroff or Kriti Sanon fan!
