Recently, rumours had gone viral that Ranveer Singh has been locked in for the role of Dev, Shiva’s father and the antagonist in Brahmastra.

However, a new report has surfaced claiming that this news is false. A source allegedly told Times Now that no producer could afford to have another major star in Brahmastra.
The insider further commented that after Animal, Ranbir is likely to re-negotiate his price and since Ranveer would not charge less than Ranbir, it would skyrocket the overall budget.
Brahmastra 2 Won’t Begin Before 2026?
“As of now, no actor – not even Ranveer – has been approached. Dharma Production is still producing but another producer is likely to be brought in later. Only then Brahmastra 2’s cast will be expanded. Right now, Ayan Mukerji is working on War 2. Brahmastra 2 won’t begin before 2026,” a source told the portal.
For the unversed, Deepika Padukone is playing the role of Amrita, Shiva’s (Ranbir Kapoor) mother. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan in key roles. Nagarjuna had played a prominent special role and Mouni Roy was an excellent antagonist in the 1st part.

Release Date?
Brahmastra Part 2 Dev is targeting the December 2026 window while Part 3 is aiming for December 2027 release! The 2 movies will be made together…so they can be released closer! Talking about Brahmastra Part 1 – it was a huge success, crossing 431 crores at the box office.
Ranveer Singh Upcoming Projects:
Ranveer will next be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. There is speculation that he and Alia Bhatt are starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.
Ranveer also is returning to the Singham franchise and will be seen in Singham Again. His wife Deepika has also come on board as the Lady Cop in Singham movies.
