Aamir Khan And Rajkumar Hirani Reuniting For Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic
Aamir Khan is teaming up again with popular director Rajkumar Hirani for a new biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema. After blockbuster hits 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014), this marks the 3rd collaboration between Aamir and Hirani.
The film doesn’t have a title yet, but shooting will start in October. Aamir will begin preparing for the role after his film Sitaare Zameen Par releases on June 20. The script has been in the works for four years and is written by Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, Hindukush Bharadwaj, and Avishkar Bharadwaj.
The movie will show the inspiring story of Dadasaheb Phalke, who created India’s film industry from nothing during the time of the freedom movement. His grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, is helping the team by sharing real stories from Phalke’s life to make the film more accurate and personal.
To recreate the time period, high-end VFX work is already being done by a studio in Los Angeles.
