In a candid chat with Instant Bollywood, the October star shared the surreal experience she had while preparing for the Filmfare Awards. Banita, along with a few other debut actresses, was part of a group dance performance. Things were already exciting. Then came the real surprise: Shah Rukh Khan would be joining their rehearsal.

“He was so chivalrous,” Banita said. “I was trying to learn the dance steps, but honestly, I couldn’t remember any of them. The poor dance teacher was trying to help, but I just couldn’t get it, because SRK was right there in front of me.”
Imagine trying to stay focused while the biggest superstar in Bollywood is standing a few feet away, smiling and offering help. No wonder her mind went blank.
“He was helping me learn the steps, and then he goes, ‘So Banita, what are you up to? What’s next for you?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, I’m actually about to shoot a TV show in the US right now.’ He was like, ‘That’s awesome, congrats!’”
What really stayed with her was how kind and attentive he was, despite being such a global icon. “I was just thinking, not only did he care about my life and my work, but this is literally the most iconic actor on the planet. That was such a crazy moment for me.”
She tried to keep it together, but her excitement was obvious. “It was so obvious because my brain just wasn’t working. I couldn’t even remember what I was supposed to say. He has that energy where he makes you feel so comfortable and at ease.”
As soon as she got home, Banita had to tell someone. “I went home and called my Mom and I was like, ‘You won’t believe what happened to me.’”
Banita Praises Aryan & Suhana
Banita also mentioned how SRK’s good nature reflects in his family too. “And I have to say, he’s raised his kids, Suhana and Aryan, the same way. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. They’re so polite and lovely.”
For Banita, that brief interaction was more than just meeting a star. It was about feeling seen and appreciated by someone she had admired for years. A memory like that is hard to top.
